Greed

I am struggling to understand the mindset of people lately, especially some of our world leaders.

How can one country bomb another country and then say ‘‘That’s the end. If you retaliate, you’ll really get it.’’ Come on, you started it.

And place tariffs on a whole lot of countries and also threaten to up these if a country dares to do the same back.

And threaten their friend countries.

And humiliate a leader who is desperately trying to save his country from attack. Then help yourself to his country’s mineral wealth but do nothing to really help him defeat the aggressor.

And get rid of all the media who might possibly report from an unbiased angle, all the destruction he is causing.

It is plain to see these actions are those of a greedy, self-indulgent, spoilt, manipulator, who admits he plays dirty in any kind of business. Zero integrity.

But what I don’t get is why people from this country are praising this man, believing he is so wonderful, believing that that kind of behaviour is fine.

I have been subject to many podcasts lately, ones my partner is watching. From my outside perspective looking in, I see so many of these are biased. If a person is an avid supporter of this man’s party, then what he is doing is great. If a person is from a different political party, then these actions are terrible. Can’t people see that these actions are terrible, even if this is the party they support.

The effects haven’t come into play yet. But its no use waiting until they do. Do people not get that placing tariffs on inward goods make those products more expensive for consumers? That this country’s very own people will suffer. That cutting costs left right and centre will hurt a lot of people. It could be great if it reduced the national debt, but it won’t be if the cost savings are all for nothing because this man wants to spend more making himself, what he perceives, the greatest around.

Look at his history. He hasn’t managed his inherited businesses very well. How can he suddenly manage a country well?

All I can see is doom and gloom ahead. I would love to be wrong. Please let me be wrong. Because the future I see is not good.
