The Flow
Reposted and updated from 2024
It is pleasing when life flows, when things just fall into place with hardly or even no obstructions.
My daughter had found a town house she was interested in buying, as she wanted to move from her pokey apartment, which was now too small for her and her growing children.
She put in an offer, and the town house was duly signed up. However, there were two major hurdles, one was bank approval and the second was selling her apartment for the price she required to make the transaction. The first hiccup evaporated when the bank approved her loan a few days later.
Now the wait was on for the auction. I was back in New Zealand at a bus stop and switched on my phone to the live auction at the correct time, only to discover there were several houses waiting their fate. I watched the bids come in for another, which went to negotiation. I was unable to find the Renee’s and was starting to worry when I received an excited text from her, $850,000. She had done it. That was the sum she had in her head that she needed to make the house transaction a reality. I don’t know why her house hadn’t shown up as live, perhaps there were more than one being auctioned at the same time.
Another bonus is her town house is currently empty, so she has permission to rent it while she waits for Council to complete its work before the transaction can go through. She will move from hers in about four weeks’ time. Exciting for her.
Things have fallen into place for my older son too. He came back from a few months in Australia, wanting to find a house he could buy and do up, something he enjoys and does well. He found the perfect one not too far away and renovations have gone well for him.
My own experience of things falling into place happened when I attended my massage course in the Hawkes Bay. One thing after another aligned, indicating to me that that was exactly what I was meant to be doing. I was accepted on the course only a few days before it started, I found a place to stay on an organic orchard and my trip to the Hawkes Bay flowed. I was pretty unwell at the time and was unsure whether I could manage the drive but the journey was effortless. When I arrived, I felt so at home; that year being one of the best in my life and all the women with me on the course were ones I had shared a past life with. It was all meant to be. At the time, it was such a change of direction, but from a higher perspective, one I was meant to take.
Let’s hope both Renee and Michael’s paths are the ones they are meant to be taking too. This alignment for them both indicates that it is.
Update. A couple of years must have passed since I wrote this. Renee is very happy in her house, while Michael completed his renovations and now rents that house out.
